Turkish police arrest 4 Syrians over suspected links to PKK/YPG

Suspects detained in operation led by Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office

IZMIR, Türkiye (AA) - Turkish police arrested four Syrian nationals on Wednesday who are suspected to be members of the PKK/YPG terrorist organization.

The suspects were apprehended in Odemis district of Izmir province on Dec. 10 as part of an investigation conducted by the Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office’s Terrorism Crimes Investigation Bureau.

They were brought to court and subsequently detained by the presiding judge.

Photographs, information and documents indicating the involvement of the Syrians in the special forces unit of the PKK/YPG in previous years were found, leading to the operation which resulted in their arrest.
