ANKARA (AA) - Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.97 percent at the close of the daily session on Friday.
The benchmark index increased by 743.90 points to close at 77,554.21.
The total trading volume was 3.2 billion Turkish liras (some $1.04 billion).
The banking sector index rose 1.52 percent, while the holding sector index was up 0.93 percent.
The leasing and factoring sector index saw the biggest increase with 3.11 percent while the biggest decline was seen in the tourism sector index, which went down 1.75 percent.
The Borsa Istanbul Gold Exchange index lost 0.36 percent in value with gold trading at 124,300 Turkish liras (approx. $40,488) per kilogram.
The Turkish lira slightly gained value against the U.S. dollar to stand at 3.07 compared to Thursday's closing rate of 3.09.
