ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkish sports clubs, including Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Besiktas asked fans for support to send Houston Rockets' Alperen Sengun to the 2024 NBA All-Star Game.
Sharing a link to vote.nba.com/en on X, Youth and Sports Minister Osman Askin Bak encouraged Turks to vote for Sengun.
"Now is the time for support! Every vote we cast today for Alperen holds the potential for a buzzer-beater effect, much like a skillful shot from behind the 3-point line," Askin wrote.
"All-Star is loading!@alperennsengun," he added.
The starters are voted in by fans, players and a media panel.
Fans account for 50% of the vote to determine the All-Star Game starters, while current NBA players and a media panel account for 25% each.
The game will take place Feb. 18 in Indianapolis at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Voting will be available on the NBA App and NBA.com until Jan. 20.
