ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Monday at a record high of 10,643.58 points, up 0.9% from the previous close.
The BIST 100 index started the week at 10,660.80 points, earning 95.99 points from Friday's close.
The lowest value of the index for the day was 10,633.93, while its daily high was 10,775.00.
Some 63 indices increased in value by the end of the day, while 33 declined.
The total transaction volume reached 122.7 billion Turkish liras ($3.8 billion), while the overall value of the index was 9.19 trillion liras ($285.44 billion).
The USD/TRY exchange rate was 32.2140 as of 18.30 p.m. local time (1530GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 35.0290, while the GBP/TRY traded at 40.9310.
The price of one ounce of gold was $2,424.85, while the barrel price of Brent oil was around $83.70.
