ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock exchange ended Tuesday at 6,003.90 points, down 0.19% from the previous close.
Starting the day at 5,673.76 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 11.39 points compared to Monday's close.
The index's lowest value during the day was 5,980.08, while its daily high was 6,076.72.
The total market value of BIST 100 was around 5.13 trillion Turkish liras ($197.2 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 109.8 billion Turkish liras ($4.2 billion).
During the day, 40 stocks on the index rose and 59 fell compared to the previous close.
The price of an ounce of gold was $1,935.05, while Brent crude oil sold for around $76.15 per barrel as of 6.55 p.m. local time (1555GMT).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 25.9750, the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 28.3510, while the British pound traded at 33.0855 Turkish liras.
