Turkish stock exchange down at midweek's open

BIST 100 index decreases by around 11 point at opening session

ADANA, Türkiye (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Wednesday at 8.849,06 points, posting a slight decrease of 0.13% or 11.23 points from the previous close.

On Tuesday, the BIST 100 index was up by 1.85% to 8,860.30 points, with a daily transaction volume of 85 billion Turkish liras ($2.48 billion).

As of 10.15 am (0715GMT), the exchange rates stood at 34.2240 for the US dollar against the Turkish lira, 37.2810 for the euro, and 44.4615 for the British pound.

The price of one ounce of gold was $2,674.97, and the Brent crude oil traded at $74.40 per barrel.
