Turkish stock exchange down at open

BIST 100 index drops around 33.5 points at opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index, BIST 100, opened Wednesday at 10,658.11 points, marking an decline of 0.31% or 33.57 points from the previous close.

On Tuesday, the BIST 100 index fell by 0.39% to a record closing level of 10,691.68 points, with a daily transaction volume of 90 billion Turkish liras ($2.73 billion).

As of 10.00 a.m. (0700GMT), the US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 33.1380. The EUR/TRY rate stood at 35.8830, while the GBP/TRY rate was 42.5460.

The price of one ounce of gold was $2,421.85, and the price of Brent crude oil was around $79.50 per barrel.
