Turkish stock exchange down at Tuesday opening

BIST 100 index drops 16 points from previous close

Türkiye's benchmark stock index, the BIST 100, opened lower on Tuesday at 10,038.19 points, marking a decrease of 0.16% or 16.01 points from the previous close.

On Monday, the BIST 100 had gained 2.36%, reaching 10,054.20 points with a transaction volume of 80 billion liras ($2.39 billion).

As of 10:04 a.m. (0704 GMT), the US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 33.7810, the euro/Turkish lira (EUR/TRY) rate was 37.4361, and the British pound/Turkish lira (GBP/TRY) rate was 43.8996.

The price of gold was $2,541.25 per ounce, and Brent crude oil was priced at approximately $77.27 per barrel.

Investors are closely watching for the Turkish Central Bank's interest rate decision, scheduled to be announced later today.
