Turkish stock exchange flat at open

BIST 100 index up by 5 points at opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index BIST 100 opened Thursday at 9,137.30 points, up slightly 0.05% or five points from the previous close.

On Wednesday, the BIST 100 index was up by 0.97% to 9,132.30 points, with a daily transaction volume of 83 billion Turkish liras ($2.44 billion).

As of 11.10 a.m. (0810GMT), the exchange rates stood at 34.2130 for the US dollar against the Turkish lira, 37.4035 for the euro, and 44.7300 for the British pound.

The price of one ounce of gold was $2,614.36, and the Brent crude oil traded at $76.90 per barrel.
