ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Friday hitting a record closing level of 9,915.62 points, up 2.05% from the previous close.
The BIST 100 index started the day at 9,763.37 points, earning 198.85 points from Thursday's close.
The lowest value of the index for the day was 9,751.47, while its daily high was 9,956.11 — a historical-high.
Some 78 indices increased in value by the end of the day, while 20 declined.
The total transaction volume reached 115.2 billion Turkish liras ($3.5 billion), while the overall value of the index was 8.49 trillion liras ($261.5 billion).
The USD/TRY exchange rate was 32.4680 as of 18.20 p.m. local time (1520GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 34.6680, while the GBP/TRY traded at 40.5645.
The price of one ounce of gold was $2,333.50, while the barrel price of Brent oil was around $88.90.
