Turkish stock exchange rises over 1.5% at Thursday's close

BIST 100 index increases 49.5 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Thursday with gains, up 1.53% to reach 3,295.27 points.

After starting the day at 3,247.73 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index jumped 49.51 points from Wednesday's close of 3,245.76 points.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 2.6 trillion Turkish liras ($143.4 billion) by close, with a daily trading volume of 61.1 billion Turkish liras ($3.3 billion).

One ounce of gold traded at $1,660.00 by market close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was around $90.60 per barrel as of 6.20 p.m. local time (1520GMT).
