ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index closed the day at 9,002.34 points on Thursday, up 0.52% from the previous close.
The BIST 100 index, which started the day at 9,040.75 points, earned 46.3 points from Wednesday’s close.
The lowest value of the index for the day was 8,927.06, while its daily high was 9,060.13.
Some 74 indexes increased in value during the course of the day, while 25 declined.
The total transaction volume reached 80 billion Turkish liras ($2.34 billion), while the overall value of the index was 7.85 trillion liras ($229.9 billion).
The USD/TRY exchange rate was 34.1290 as of 7 pm (1700GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 36.9520, while the GBP/TRY traded at 44.3740.
The price of one ounce of gold was $2,689.50, while the barrel price of Brent oil was around $73.75.
