BIST 100 index earns 64.4 points at opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index BIST 100 opened Thursday at 8,779.05 points, increasing by 0.74% or 64.36 points from the previous close.

On Wednesday, the BIST 100 index fell by 1.4% to 8,714.69 points, with a daily transaction volume of 84 billion Turkish liras ($2.44 billion).

As of 10.25 am (0725GMT), the exchange rates stood at 34.2620 for the US dollar against the Turkish lira, 36.9070 for the euro, and 44.3655 for the British pound.

The price of one ounce of gold was $2,734.98, and the Brent crude oil traded at $75.60 per barrel.
