Turkish stock exchange up at Thursday's close

BIST 100 index increases over 20.5 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Thursday with gains to hit a fresh all-time high close of 3,900.85 points.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 0.53%, or 20.51 points from Wednesday's close of 3,880.34 points.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 3.1 trillion Turkish liras ($155.4 billion) by close, with a daily trading volume of 95 billion Turkish liras ($5.1 billion).

The price of Brent crude oil was around $93.9 per barrel as of 6.00 p.m. local time (1500GMT), while one ounce of gold traded at $1,649.65.

Earlier on Thursday, the Turkish Central Bank lowered its policy interest rate by 150 basis points to 10.5%.
