Turkish stock exchange up at Thursday's open

Benchmark index earns 31.2 points at opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 7,905.35 points, up 0.40%, or 31.19 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed the midweek at 7,874.16 points, up 1.78%, with a daily trading volume of 100 billion Turkish liras ($3.34 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 29.9930 as of 10.15 a.m. local time (0715GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 33.0880, while a British pound traded for 38.3030 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $77.50 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $2,038.65.
