Turkish stock exchange up at Tuesday's open

Benchmark index gains around 60 points at opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 8,547.39 points, up by 0.71%, or 60.43 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index ended Monday at an historical high end of 8,486.96 points, up 1.82%, with a daily trading volume of 153 billion Turkish liras ($5.57 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 27.4990 as of 10.10 a.m. local time (0710GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 28.8070, while a British pound traded for 33.2170 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $90.20 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,837.55.
