ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index opened Monday at 9,134.22 points, gaining 0.98% or 88.25 points versus the previous close.
At the last week's closing session, the BIST 100 index rose 1.07% to a new historic high close of 9,045.97 points with a daily transaction volume of 120 billion liras ($3.92 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 30.6670 as of 10.10 a.m. local time (GMT0710), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 33.1630, while the GBP/TRY rate was 38.7910.
The price of one ounce of gold was $2,037.65, and the barrel price of Brent oil was around $81.90.
