ANKARA (AA) – Turkey’s benchmark index was down 1.41 percent at the close of the daily session on Tuesday, Nov. 1.
The BIST 100 index fell 1,107.61 points to close at 77,428.56. The total trading volume of the country's stock exchange market was 3.6 billion Turkish liras (approx. $1.12 billion).
Turkey's banking sector index and holding sector index were down by 1.18 percent and 1.12 percent respectively.
On the second day of the week, none of the sector indices gained value while the wood, paper and printing sector index fell the most, by 3.11 percent.
The most heavily traded stocks were private lender Garanti Bank, Turkish Airlines, private bank Akbank, oil refiner Tupras and state lender Halkbank.
Borsa Istanbul's Gold Exchange index increased 0.98 percent and gold trading stood at 128,200 Turkish liras (some $41,182) per kilogram.
The Turkish lira lost value against the U.S. dollar to trade at 3.1130 compared to Monday's closing rate of 3.1030.
