Turkish stocks down at Tuesday open

Benchmark index loses 14.73 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 4,547.21 points, falling by 0.32%, or 14.73 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed Monday at 4,561.94 points, up 3.66%, with a daily trading volume of 42 billion Turkish liras ($2.16 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 19.5114 as of 9.58 a.m. local time (0658GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 21.4510, while a British pound traded for 24.6555 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $76.34 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $2,031.05.
