ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index ended the week down 0.56% to close at 97,845.20 points on Friday.
After starting the day at 99,201.12 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index fell 553.61 points from Thursday's close at 98,398.81 points.
On a weekly basis, the benchmark index posted a 3.2% decline. At the beginning of this year, the BIST 100 stood around 114,000 points.
An ounce of gold sold for $1,438.00 at the weekly close in Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, versus $1,720.00 at the previous close.
The price of Brent oil was $30.20 per barrel as of 6:00 p.m. local time (1500GMT) on Friday – hovering between $29.35 and $30.67 during the day.
At the beginning of 2010, a barrel of Brent oil sold for around $58.
