ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index closed the week at 9,659.48 points on Friday, up 0.49% from its previous close.
After starting the day at 9,567.76, the BIST 100 index earned 46.64 points from Friday's close.
The lowest point for the index during the day was 9,415.95, while the daily high was 9,669.22.
On Friday, 74 indexes gained in value, while 22 closed the week with losses.
The total transaction volume reached 103 billion Turkish liras ($2.72 billion), while the overall value of the index was 8.7 trillion liras ($229.4 billion).
The stock market will be closed next Monday and Tuesday due to Eid al Fitr and will reopen on Wednesday.
The USD/TRY exchange rate was 37.9665 as of 6.30 p.m. local time (1530GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 41.1630, and the GBP/TRY traded at 49.2090.
The price of gold was $3,080.85 per ounce, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $73.30.
