ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index started midweek trading up 0.03% or 29.41 points to open at 96,840.62 points on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index dropped 1.91% to close the day at 96,811.22 points with a daily trading volume of 7.8 billion Turkish liras ($1.36 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 5.7360 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Wednesday, slightly up from 5.7100 at Tuesday's close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.4320, versus 6.4050, and one British pound traded for 7.1560 Turkish liras, compared to 7.1290.
One barrel of Brent oil was sold for $64.82 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Wednesday.
