ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index ended the day up slightly 0.09% to 119,242.80 points on Monday.
Starting the week at 119,463.50 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 102.72 points from the last week's close of 119,140.08 points.
During Monday's trading, the BIST 100 hovered between 118,761.62 points and 119,784.10 points – 56 stocks on the index rose, 39 fell, and five were flat compared to the previous close.
Closing the day with a market value of 824.9 billion Turkish liras ($138.1 billion), the benchmark index posted a daily trading volume of 11 billion Turkish liras ($1.9 billion).
Shares of national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, one of the world's major glass manufacturers, and energy firm Odas Elektrik saw the highest trading volumes on Monday.
Shares of shares of Ege Endustri (EGEEN), which manufactures components for the automotive industry, was the best performer on Monday, rising 5.91%, while stocks of Anadolu Cam (ANACM), operating under Sisecam, did the worst, losing 5.06%.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $56.05 per barrel as of 6.00 p.m. (1500GMT) on Monday.
