ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s benchmark index lost 64.28 points to open at 74,972.62 on Thursday morning.
The BIST 100 index decreased slightly by 0.09 percent, while the banking and holding sector indexes declined 0.16 and 0.08 percent, respectively.
On the fourth day of the week, the electricity index rose the most by 0.88 percent in the opening session, while the investment trusts index saw the largest drop with a 0.46 percent fall.
The Turkish lira was lower against the U.S. dollar to trade at 3.4060 early Thursday, compared to Wednesday's closing rate of 3.3970.
Analysts said investors would follow the actions of the Central Bank's Monetary Policy Committee on Thursday afternoon. Externally, German economy's growth figures are also expected to be followed by investors while the U.S. markets are closed due to Thanksgiving Day.
