ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's BIST 100 stock index opened Tuesday up 16.78 points to reach 100,539.08, a 0.34 percent rise on Monday’s close.
The banking sector index declined 0.02 percent while the holding sector rose 0.09 percent.
Among all sectors, the transportation sector index was the best performer with a 1.17 percent rise, while the basic metal sector index started the day with the biggest decline, falling by 0.45 percent.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange was flat at 3.5580 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared with 3.5480 at Monday’s close.
The BIST 100 increased by 81.91 points, or 0.08 percent, to reach 100,522.30 points at the close of trade on Monday, with a total trading volume of 3.8 billion Turkish liras ($1.07 billion).
