ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index decreased by 0.11% or 112.63 points to start Friday at 100,165.74 points.
On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 0.10% to close the day at 100,278.37 points with a daily trading volume of 8 billion Turkish liras ($1.4 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 5.6960 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Friday, from 5.6840 on Thursday.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.2920, versus 6.3070, and one British pound traded for 7.0400 Turkish liras, up from 7.0310 at the previous close.
One barrel of Brent oil was sold for around $60.90 as of 10.10 a.m. local time (0710GMT) on Friday.
