ANKARA (AA) – Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,721.79 points on Tuesday – a rise of 1.13%, or 19.29 points, from the previous close.
At Monday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index hit another record closing of 1,702.49 points, with a daily trading volume of almost 33.5 billion Turkish liras ($3.35 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was up to 10.0900 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) from 10.0390 at the previous close.
One euro traded for 11.4800 Turkish lira versus 11.4780 at Monday’s close, while the British pound/Turkish lira exchange rate was 13.5500, up from 13.5130.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $82.93 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
