Turkish stocks looking up at Wednesday open

BIST 100 rises around 68 points at opening session

ANKARA (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Wednesday at 7,912.44 points, up by 0.86% or 67.64 points, from the previous close.

On Tuesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed at 7,919.25 points, down by 0.30%, with a daily trading volume of 81 billion liras ($2.84 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 28.5152 as of 09.51 a.m. local time (0651GMT), while the euro/Turkish lira rate stood at 30.4922, and a British pound traded for 35.0055 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $81.79 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,974.90.
