ANKARA (AA) – The Borsa Istanbul index rose by 0.16 percent to open at 77,802.82 points on Friday following the U.S. Federal Reserve’s 25 base points hike in its key interest rate.
On the last trading day of the week, major subindexes of the BIST 100 were higher compared with Thursday's close; the construction sector led the surge with a 0.91 percent hike.
On Thursday, the Turkish lira gained value against the dollar by 0.8 percent to close at 3.51. The lira barely changed against the greenback on Friday, which started at 3.503.
The two-year benchmark bond was traded within the 11.07 percent to 11.38 percent range, ending at 11.07 percent.
