Turkish stocks open Tuesday looking up

Benchmark index gains 34.4 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) — Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 6,049.69 points, rising 0.57%, or 34.4 points, from the previous close.

On Monday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed at an all-time high of 6,015.29 points, surging 4.45%.

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 25.9937 as of 9.52 a.m. local time (0652GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 28.3927, while a British pound traded for 33.0102 liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $75.05 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,933.95.
