Turkish stocks start day up

BIST 100 index rose over 185 points, USD/TRY exchange rate stands at 5.7450

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index rose 0.18%, or 185.67 points, to start the week at 105,568.14 points on Tuesday.

On Monday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 1.13% at 105,382.42 points with a daily trading volume of 10.5 billion Turkish liras (some $1.84 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 5.7450 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Tuesday, compared to 5.7410 at yesterday's close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.3310, versus 6.3260, and one British pound traded for 7.4270 Turkish liras, while it was 7.4090 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil was sold for around $62.55 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Tuesday.
