ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index ended Monday up 1.26 percent to close at 89,951.09 points.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index surged 1,120.27 points from last week's close, as it started the first business day of the week at 89,444.74 points.
By market close, one U.S. dollar traded for 5.3610 Turkish liras, down from Friday's close of 5.4160.
The euro/lira rate slightly decreased to 6.1400, compared with 6.1590 at the previous close.
The GBP/TRY exchange rate stood at 6.8620, while one British pound traded for 6.8580 Turkish liras at Friday's close.
In Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, the price of one ounce of gold was around $1,291.40 at daily close, versus $1,290.15 at the previous close.
Hovering between $57.43 and $58.89 during the day, a barrel of Brent oil was sold for $58.40 as of 6.15 p.m. local time (1515GMT) on Monday.
