ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Wednesday at 9,573.21 points, up 1.29% from its previous close.
The BIST 100 index, starting the day at 9,467.96, rose by 121.63 points from the close on Tuesday.
The lowest point for the index during the day was 9,422.17, while the daily high was 9,629.29.
On Wednesday, 66 indexes gained in value, while 33 closed the day with losses.
The total transaction volume reached 88 billion Turkish liras ($2.41 billion), while the overall value of the index was 8.4 trillion liras ($231.6 billion).
The USD/TRY exchange rate was 36.4570 as of 7.10 pm local time (1610GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 38.3690, and the GBP/TRY traded at 46.3240.
The price of gold was $2,912.70 per ounce, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $72.50.
