Turkish stocks up at Thursday open

Benchmark index gains 28.55 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 6,135.31 points, up 0.47%, or 28.55 points, from the previous close.

On Wednesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed at a new all-time high of 6,106.76 points, surging 1.71%, with a daily trading volume of 113 billion Turkish liras ($4.3 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 26.0964 as of 10.03 a.m. local time (0703GMT), and the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 28.4121, while a British pound traded for 33.1593 liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $76.44 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,926.65.
