ANKARA (AA) – The Turkish Treasury's cash balance ran a deficit of 82.3 billion Turkish liras ($2.95 billion) in October, according to official figures released on Tuesday.
The figure was 69 billion Turkish liras ($2.56 billion) in September, the Treasury and Finance Ministry data showed.
Cash revenues of the Treasury amounted to 481.3 billion Turkish liras ($17.3 billion), while its expenditures stood at 563.5 billion Turkish liras ($20.2 billion).
Its interest payments was at 56.5 billion Turkish liras ($2 billion) last month.
Excluding interest payments, the cash balance posted a deficit of 25.8 billion Turkish liras ($924 million) in October.
The Turkish lira traded for 27.8982 per US dollar on average in October.
In January-October, the Treasury's cash deficit came in at 523.8 billion Turkish liras ($27 billion), its revenues exceeded 4 trillion Turkish liras ($180.2 billion), and expenditures was at 4.5 trillion liras ($203.8 billion).
