Ten top Turkish universities sent representatives to the 22nd Karachi Turkish Universities Fair, offering a variety of master's, graduate, and undergraduate programs at their respective institutions of higher learning.

Students were particularly interested in the faculties of medicine, dentistry, engineering, architecture, and business.

Thousands of Pakistani students are already studying in Turkish universities, which provide globally recognized higher education, mainly in engineering, medicine, information technology, artificial intelligence, and computer science.

Turkish Consul General in Karachi, Cemal Sangu, as well as local educationists also visited the fair.

Sangu said in his remarks that Turkish universities are imparting quality education that can be compared to the best institutes of higher learning in the world.

A number of scholarships, he added, are also being offered to meritorious students from Pakistan and other developing nations.

Professor Fatma Zeynep Ozkurt of the International Relations Department at Nisantasi University in Istanbul said the scholarship opportunities offered will make the already strong relations between the two countries more comprehensive in the future, and university cooperation will grow.

This was the third fair of its kind in Pakistan this year. The fairs in the capital Islamabad and northeastern Lahore city were held on Nov. 21 and Nov. 24, respectively.
