ANKARA (AA) - Turkish National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar and his Uzbek counterpart Bakhodir Kurbanov discussed cooperation Tuesday on the telephone, the Turkish National Defense Ministry said in a statement.
The two officials also discussed bilateral, regional defense and security matters.
Akar welcomed the enhancement of ties between Türkiye and Uzbekistan in recent years that reached the level of "strategic partnership."
The Turkish minister also expressed content for the common will and a determination to develop and deepen relations in all fields.
He thanked Kurbanov for the solidarity shown after the Feb. 6 earthquakes that hit southern Türkiye that claimed more than 50,000 lives.
