ANKARA (AA) - Turkish warplanes killed 10 PKK terrorists in airstrikes in southeastern Turkey’s Hakkari province Monday, an unnamed military source told Anadolu Agency on Wednesday.
The jets carried out the raids on PKK positions in Hakkari’s Daglica area, the source said on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking with the media.
PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization also by the U.S., and EU -- resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.
Since then, more than 450 security personnel, including troops, police officers, and village guards, have been martyred, and more than 4,500 PKK terrorists killed in counter-terrorism operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
