ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkiye's Feyzullah Akturk on Wednesday claimed a gold medal in men's wrestling at the European championships in Budapest.
Akturk claimed a 6-1 victory over Ahmed Sultanovich Bataev from Bulgaria in the 92kg freestyle division in Hungary's capital.
The 2022 European Championships run through Sunday.
The honor marked Turkiye's landmark 100th gold medal in the history of the European wrestling championships.
Later, Turkiye's Taha Akgul also won his ninth gold medal by beating Geno Petriashvili from Georgia 5-2 in the 125kg freestyle division.
