AYDIN, Turkey (AA) - The 2020 Individual World Cup bronze medalist Turkish wrestler Cengiz Arslan seeks to claim medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The 24-year-old Turkish athlete won the bronze medal in men's Greco-Roman 72 kg at the 2020 Individual World Cup in the Serbian capital Belgrade.
Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Arslan said he trained at home for the World Cup.
Arslan added that he has turned a room of his home into a training facility and does outdoor exercises in the backyard over the coronavirus outbreak.
Arslan is honored to receive a medal at the World Cup but expects more achievement.
“My goal is always to climb to the top. I target the Olympics. I have received medals in many competitions. The Olympics is the only organization where I could not bag," he said.
The Tokyo Olympics were supposed to take place this July before being postponed, along with other sports events and competitions worldwide, due to the outbreak.
The games have been rescheduled for next July 23-Aug. 8, while the Paralympic Games will take place that Aug. 24-Sept. 5.
