ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye on Tuesday extended its "heartfelt condolences" to Japan and Korea after typhoons battered parts of both East Asian countries.
"We have learned with sadness that the recent typhoons which have affected Japan and the Republic of Korea have caused loss of lives, injuries and forced millions to leave their homes," said a Foreign Ministry statement.
Expressing "heartfelt condolences to the relatives of those who have lost their lives as well as to the friendly peoples and the Governments of Japan and the Republic of Korea," the ministry also wished "speedy recovery to the injured."
At least two people were killed and 115 others injured after Typhoon Nanmadol hit southwestern Japan on Sunday, leaving more than 100,000 homes still without power.
Typhoon Nanmadol also battered southeastern South Korea, causing damages, power outages, and displacing hundreds of people, according to local media reports on Monday.
