ANKARA (AA) – Türkiye and Georgia on Wednesday held political consultations between the delegations headed by senior diplomats.
According to the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Deputy Foreign Minister Sedat Onal and his Georgian counterpart Lasha Darsalia discussed bilateral relations, multilateral cooperation in the Caucasus, and international issues in a meeting in Georgia.
Türkiye and Georgia share strategic relations and close cooperation on a wide range of areas from energy to trade and from economy to education and culture.
Türkiye ranks the first biggest trade partner of Georgia with a bilateral trade volume of $1.85 billion in 2019, and Turkish contracting firms have successfully completed 258 projects in the country, according to the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
