ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) has opened applications for its 2024-2025 Turkish Language Program for Public Officials and Academics (KATIP).
The eight-month fellowship program, held in the capital Ankara, offers foreign public officials, diplomats, and researchers an opportunity to learn Turkish and gain insights into Turkish culture, the organization said.
Launched in 2014, KATIP has included 195 participants from 80 countries. The program includes language courses, cultural excursions, and interactions with Turkish institutions.
Eligible applicants must be under 40 as of this Jan. 1 with at least three years of relevant experience for public officials. Academics must be employed at a university or research center. English proficiency is required, and preference is given to those with advanced degrees.
The scholarship covers language education, monthly stipends, accommodation, and travel expenses.
Applications close on Sept 2. Interested candidates can apply through the KATIP website.
YTB is the organization that coordinates activities for Turks, their kin, and related communities living abroad and international scholarship students studying in Türkiye.
