ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye qualified for the final in the men's 4x100 meters after an accepted objection at the 2022 European Athletics Championships on Friday.
Türkiye, which finished seventh at 39.5 seconds in the men's 4x100 meters relay second heat, submitted an objection over a Finnish athlete unintentionally blocking Turkish athlete Emre Zafer Barnes during a flag change.
Officials who ruled in favor of Türkiye's position decided that the race should be re-run.
After finishing the race fifth, Italy filed an objection to the re-run decision, but it was not accepted.
The Turkish team, with Emre Zafer Barnes, Jak Ali Harvey, Kayhan Ozer, and Ertan Ozkan, managed to reach the finals in the 4x100 meters relay with a time of 38.98 in the re-run.
Türkiye will compete in the men's 4x100 meters final on Sunday.
