ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended the midweek at 7,424.97 points, down 7.08% from Tuesday.
Starting Wednesday at 8,035.83 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 565.45 points from Tuesday's close.
The index's lowest value during the day was 7,424.97, while its daily high was 8,084.44.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 6.4 trillion Turkish liras ($228.8 billion), with a trading volume of 123 billion liras ($4.38 billion).
During the day, all stocks dropped compared to the previous close.
The price of an ounce of gold was $1,992.95, while Brent crude oil sold for around $88.60 per barrel as of 6.50 p.m. local time (1550GMT).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 28.1285, the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 29.8190 while a British pound traded for 34.1705 liras.
