Türkiye's BIST 100 index ends Tuesday down

Benchmark index loses almost 200 points on 2nd transaction day of week

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Tuesday at 7,514.10 points, down 2.58% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 7,749.33 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 198.74 points from Monday's close.

The index's lowest value during the day was 7,496.37, while its daily high was 7,775.13.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 6.5 trillion Turkish liras ($229.6 billion), with a daily trading volume of 88 billion Turkish liras ($3.11 billion).

During the day, four stocks on the index rose and 95 fell compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,005.55, while Brent crude oil sold for around $86.60 per barrel as of 6.35 p.m. local time (1535GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 28.2910 and the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was 29.9630, and a British pound traded for 34.3225 Turkish liras.
