ANKARA (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended the week at 7,961.98 points, plunging 1.93% from the previous close.
Starting the day at 8,136.04 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 156.77 points from yesterday's close.
The index fell 4.36% on a weekly basis as of Friday's close.
The lowest value of the index on Friday was 7,961.98, while its daily high was 8,139.34.
The total market value of BIST 100 was around 6.79 trillion Turkish liras ($252.3 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 132 billion liras ($4.9 billion).
The price of an ounce of gold was $1,949.65, while Brent crude oil sold for around $93.53 per barrel as of 6.16 p.m. local time (1516GMT).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 26.9804, the euro/lira exchange rate was 28.8113, and the British pound traded at 33.4610 liras.
