ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended the midweek at 7,842.66 points, down 3.36% from Tuesday.
Starting Wednesday at 7,962.60 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 272.35 points from Tuesday's close.
The index's lowest value during the day was 7,836.99, while its daily high was 8,015.26.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 6.75 trillion Turkish liras ($242.5 billion), with a daily trading volume of 101 billion liras ($3.6 billion).
During the day, 12 stocks on the index rose and 87 fell compared to the previous close.
The price of an ounce of gold was $1,955.55, while Brent crude oil sold for around $91.10 per barrel as of 6.25 p.m. local time (1525GMT).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 28.0145 and the euro/lira exchange rate was 29.5495, while a British pound traded for 34.0360 liras.
