ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Thursday at 10,459.08 points, up 2.65% from its previous close, hitting its highest level in around seven months.
After starting the day at 9,984.67, the BIST 100 rose 270.23 points from Wednesday's close.
The lowest point for the index during the day was 10,186.44, while the daily high was 10,459.08.
On Thursday, 90 indexes gained in value, while nine closed the day with losses.
The total transaction volume reached 154 billion Turkish liras ($4.23 billion), while the overall value of the index was 9.2 trillion liras ($253 billion).
The USD/TRY exchange rate was 36.4125 as of 6.50 pm local time (1550GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 39.4810, and the GBP/TRY traded at 46.9285.
The price of gold was $2,915.70 per ounce, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $69.10.
