ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 1,951.17 points on Wednesday, up 6.1 points, or 0.31%, from the previous close.
On Tuesday, the BIST 100 index closed the day at 1,945.07 points after increasing by 34.78 points, or 1.82%, with a daily trading volume of 27.8 billion liras ($2.1 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 13.4960 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 13.5420.
The euro/lira exchange rate was down slightly to 15.2648 from 15.2730, while a British pound traded for 18.2129 liras, down from 18.2990.
Brent crude oil sold for around $87.25 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
